Celebrating 35 years

of advancing the practice of transport nursing and enhancing the quality of patient care through commitment to safety and education.

Board of Director's Message

August 2016

Greetings and welcome to the Air Surface Transport Nurses Association! My name is Steven Neher and I have been in critical care transport for the past 17 years.  I am currently the learning specialist for the Air Care Team in Orlando, FL.  I have been involved with ASTNA for over 16 years in various roles such as author, reviewer, presenter, and Board Member.  If you are not familiar with our association, ASTNA is a non-profit member organization whose mission is to advance the practice of transport nursing and enhance the quality of patient care through commitment to safety and education.  ASTNA is a strong association due to the talent and commitment our members have within the membership.

We’re all familiar with the metaphorical statement “Pay it forward.” We use it to mean what you do is repeated by others for others, as in good deeds. To start a cycle of good deeds, do a good deed. There are a variety projects and workgroups in which you can lend your expertise in promoting critical care transport medicine.   Consider applying to be an ASTNA Board member, consider nominating a collogue for one of the many awards ASTNA has to offer.  Consider being on the TPATC advisory council, becoming an instructor, consider being an author or reviewer in one of our many publications.  ASTNA is a strong association today for the individuals who have “Pay it forward.”  Consider sharing your talents with ASNTA and “Pay it forward!”
